The power of synergy

Rio de Janeiro, January 31, 2017 - ADM do Brasil to hire Forship and HMSWeb to act in management and supervision roles in the commissioning of Santos (SP) port terminal expansion.

Forship Engenharia and HMSWeb Tecnologia da Informação Ltda. won contracts with a major agribusiness player, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) do Brasil, thus reinforcing the synergy between the companies in the group. The services under the contract, started in December, are due to be completed within a five month period, with the possibility of an extension.

Forship will provide management and supervision services on the commissioning of ADM do Brasil port terminal facility expansion project in the largest port in Latin America, Santos (SP). HMSWeb Tecnologia da Informação Ltda, in turn, will act in the licensing of and provide support to its HMSWeb commissioning management system.

"This contract means the consolidation of Forship Group's entry in the agribusiness segment, which is one of the most vigorous in Brazil. We will be contributing to the implementation of good practices and commissioning management tools in one of the main players in this segment", emphasizes Forship Group Vice-President Antonio Prates.

The initial phase will include the gathering of information for the development of an HMSWeb system commissioning and configuration plan. Five professionals have been assigned to Santos, under the coordination of Engineer Guilherme Licht, relying on the support provided by Forship Implementation Manager Marcos Kronemberger.

"Besides being accountable for the planning and monitoring of the commissioning activities performed by the systems and equipment suppliers under the project, we will be supporting the set-up of a structured culture within this area at ADM do Brasil, working in tandem with the client's teams and other subcontracted companies," adds Marcos Kronemberger.

Agribusiness: a strategic sector

ADM Brazil is part of US-based ADM Company group, one of the biggest players in the agribusiness worldwide. Operating in Brazil since 1997, the company has several industrial plants around the country, including the port terminal. The company, a producer of soy protein, vegetable oils, dietary fibers and bioactive agents, owns some forty grain storage silos in the states of Bahia, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.

Forship has an expertise in this sector after the BP Biofuels' Usina Tropical expansion Commissioning management contract, in Edéia (GO), which also included the HMSWeb. "This market is very promising for the expansion of our business, expanding our already recognized performance in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Mining and Industry segments," Antonio Prates says.
