A diversifying strategy leverages HMSWeb to the heights of an unprecedented milestone: conducting 30 simultaneous projects
Rio de Janeiro, February 01, 2021 - In an atypical year due to the Covid-19 pandemic ‘scouring’ the planet, HMSWeb Tecnologia da Informação achieved a feat as yet unheard of: in December, the company accounted for no less than 30 ongoing projects in its portfolio. “We, as a company, are currently in the steepest project peak to date,” celebrated Luciano Gaete, HMSWeb CEO. It is the very embodiment of the recovery forecast in 2019, when there were yet no explicit trace of coronavirus. Although almost every project has been subject to delays during the first quarters of this challenging year, the company is to ascertain double its revenue back in 2019. Operations on several fronts The large number of projects reflects the diversification of HMSWeb's portfolio, initially focused in the mining industry, mainly in VALE's ventures with the participation of Forship Engenharia holding company. In addition to expanding its participation in this segment, HMSWeb conquered other markets, such as energy, paper and pulp, agribusiness, as well as oil and gas, in which Forship made History. Among the main projects in its current portfolio, are those in the area of pulp and paper, with companies such as Klabin, WestRock and Poyry. “They are providing us with opportunities to venture even further in this diversifying strategy, eventually leveraging HMSWeb to the unprecedented milestone of 30 simultaneous projects in December. Our portfolio is full of market projects, consolidating HMSWeb as the solution for managing the commissioning of your capital projects,” points out the officer. In the mining industry, the most recent contract is with MIP Engenharia, for licensing and deployment services of HMSWeb in the assembly project for Plants 5 and 6 at Vale's Tubarão Complex (Espírito Santo state), which plans to invest BRL 2.4 billion in the port area alone until 2025. Another similar contract, signed with Vale, refers to the project of Water Collection and Adduction on Paraopeba River, in Minas Gerais state. “This is a new project profile in which we started to work with the client, treating tailings and improving the surroundings of regions such as Brumadinho and Mariana, in an effort to recover the areas affected by the sad accidents over the last few years, in order to guarantee that it does not happen again,” emphasizes Gaete. HMSWeb's future expectations are the best possible. The current portfolio already ensures a solid base for the years of 2021 and 2022, when the company will continue to strive and conquer new markets and clients.
